Spend a beautiful day on the Great Barrier Reef and a day cooling off in the Atherton Tablelands, swimming in Waterfalls while exploring the stunning Atherton Tablelands. This 2-day Tropical Getaway package is flexible and can fit into your holiday itinerary. You can do the day tours in any order you wish. here’s our sample itinerary:
DAY 1 – Great Barrier Reef
Visit the Great Barrier Reef with Cairns’ only all-inclusive day tour. You’ll even get a FREE scuba dive! Two pristine Great Barrier Reef dive sites are visited daily and selected based on conditions for ideal diving and snorkelling.
A high-speed catamaran gets you to the Reef fast. This tour guarantees the most time at each beautiful Great Barrier Reef destination.

DAY 2 – Tablelands and Waterfalls Adventure
Jump aboard Gus the Wonder Bus! Uncle Brian will take you in his fun and friendly way on a day of adventures in our natural world. We’ll visit ancient coastal Rainforests and the beauty of the Atherton Tablelands during this Rainforest and Waterfalls Tour.
We’ll be walking and talking, swimming, rock sliding, singing in waterfalls, floating in a volcanic crater lake. Then an exciting journey home! We look forward to welcoming you into our family and sharing fun times.
Itinerary
Great Barrier Reef
- 07:30 – Board Reef Experience vessel at the Marlin Jetty, Cairns
- 08:00 – Departure Marlin Jetty for the trip to the Outer Great Barrier Reef
- 08:30 – BBQ Bacon and Egg Rolls served on the way out to the Outer Reef a detailed dive & snorkelling briefing will be given
- 09:30 – Arrive at our first spectacular reef site, snorkel & dive with thousands of vivid tropical fish, giant clams plus more
- 12:30 – Lunch
- 13:00 – Cruise to our second location to explore forests of coral, large sea fans & black coral trees in its shallow lagoons
- 15:00 – Depart the Great Barrier Reef
- 15:30 – Glass of wine, tropical fruits, cheese & biscuits
- 16:30 – Arrive back in Cairns
Waterfall
- The day begins with a visit to the Babinda Boulders. After a delicious morning tea, you take your first walk and swim of the day.
- From here, you journey to Josephine Falls. Enjoy a short rainforest walk before sliding down a waterfall.
- Drive to the beautiful Tablelands and famous Millaa Millaa Falls. Uncle Brian will keep you amused and entertained with tales of adventure!
- Lunch at the Falls Tea House with a selection of cold roast meats, salads and vegetarian meals served.
- Freshly brewed local tea and coffee and freshly baked cake is available for dessert.
- When you get to Millaa Millaa Falls, make your way to beneath the waterfall and SING your heart out! This waterfall is one of the most photographed in Australia and has made appearances in many films over the years.
- Delicious afternoon tea of hot chocolate and muffins follows a swim or stroll around Lake Eacham.
- Platypus spotting is next. It’s a beautiful moment when you see one.
- You get to relax by a volcanic crater lake in the evening before the exciting journey home with Uncle Brian.

- Unlimited morning and afternoon Snorkeling at 2 Outer Great Barrier Reef Locations
- Guided Snorkel Tours – Non-swimmer snorkel tours are included throughout the day for those who require assistance in the water
- Buoyancy vests, noodles and Wetsuits are included and available for easy flotation for all passengers
- Snorkelling equipment and tuition
- FREE Certified or Resort Scuba Dive (no experience necessary) for everyone who is over the age of 12 and medically fit to dive (See Important Information below)
- The interactive Marine Biology Presentation is a great way to learn about marine life from our resident, on-board Marine Biologist as you journey to your first reef destination.
- Breakfast, Bacon and Egg BBQ Rolls, Coffee, Tea and fruit platter
- Delicious BBQ Lunch with an assortment of fresh salads

- Josephine Falls – Stunning three-stage rainforest waterfall that has a great swimming hole.
- Lake Eacham – A volcanic crater lake over 60 meters deep. The crater was created by underground volcanic pressure which erupted and left a large crater.
- Yungaburra – Our last stop is an exceptional one. We will be looking for an extraordinary creature called a Platypus.

Important Information
Great Barrier Reef
We have a passion for showing you Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, so please make sure you understand the scuba diving laws.
Queensland, Australia has some of the strictest scuba diving rules in the world but also the safest scuba diving record. The Queensland Government Code of Practice regulates us and comply with all regulations, which includes medical as is the law.
We recommend all passengers complete our dive medical questionnaire before booking as some medical conditions, age and medications may prevent you from scuba diving. It is always our mission to provide our passengers with the very best Great Barrier Reef experience.

Flying after Scuba Diving
For a single no decompression scuba dive, you should not fly or go to altitude for at least 18 hours after a scuba dive. For multiple dives, you should not fly for 24 hours after your last dive. If Skydiving or Hot Air Ballooning you must wait 24 hours after your dive. We recommend waiting a minimum of 24 hours whenever possible
